ÖH, abriviation for “österreichische hochschülerschft” signifies austrian student union and is the political representation in the university.
there is the university representatives, the studyfield representatives and unit which are working on serveral topics.
the university representatives are the voice for the students of the hole university, including all departments and studies. the university representatives are voted by list. There task is to decide about money, projekts and comodity stuff. For the head of the university. the university representatives are the first to talk ro. A list can be founded by anypersons with a austrian citzienship and have to be permited by a support list. The suport list consists of at least 30 signatures of students of the academy.
The study field representatives are the voice for a certain department (e.g. architecture). They have a certain amount of money for projects. These people get elected through a personal candidature.
units are working on serveal topics like pulic relations, queer/gender, finance or international affairs, and a few more. They are about to inform students and the university representatives about all kind of stuff, or problems students come with.
The next election will be in may 2013.
